Allow me to show you what happens when a team comes together…
It was my birthday last week. TraceWorthy Consulting usually celebrates everyone with a birthday cake, the blowing out of candles, a song, and a few giggles while we take photographs. As a member of the team, that is what I thought would happen for me – founder or otherwise.
Instead, my team surprised me with a birthday celebration that had me moved to tears.
Have a look at the gorgeous cake they organised. I’ve not seen my family for two years and they brought my family to me, including having my daughter and one of my granddaughters on video call while they sang “happy birthday.” I was absolutely speechless, tears of joy running down my face.
My team also gifted me a beautiful bunch of flowers and had a photo card made that has little messages from everyone inside. I will frame it so it can sit on my desk.
Then, they presented me with a gift bag. It contained an absolutely stunning dress they had tailor made especially for me. They pay attention in a way that had them know my favourite design. They even enlisted my housekeeper in “borrowing” one of my dresses to take to the tailor and replicate it. They even remembered that I had been saying how much I would love that dress in batik fabric. I love it!!!
I am incredibly grateful! Every day, I am surrounded by wonderfully talented, incredibly kind and supremely generous people. This didn’t happen by accident though. The culture I have created over years of building teams has everybody relate at a level few companies get to experience. It shows up in how they treat each other, our customers, and me.
